Sun, Sand and Sales

The annual sales incentive trip is one of my favorite events of the year. It’s a fantastic time to recognize and celebrate our top earning a first-rate location.

Although it is always fun to be rewarded with an all-inclusive vacation for two, the real value is honoring these individuals and, in doing so, fostering an incentive-based culture.

A secondary effect of the trip is the energy that comes about from bringing all of these top performers together. They share ideas, stories and theories so naturally, that it never really feels like business. A lot of great professionals speaking about their craft is highly enjoyable.

So it’s a great time to learn AND to celebrate.

And celebrate we do. The chosen place this year was Cheeca Lodge and Spa on the beautiful Islamorada Florida Keys.  The trip offered luxurious accommodations and cuisine, along with all levels of leisure. An afternoon could include deep sea fishing, a trip to the spa, or a lazy afternoon on the beach. There was literally something for everyone. And after a long day of fun in the sun, we would unwind with a cocktail or three in the CEO’s suite. Every night was topped off an exquisite and memorable dining experience. We were living the good life for a few days.

But I think it's important to remember, this trip is more than just a vacation; it’s a chance for Activate! to take care of its employees, and honor a year's worth of outstanding work. So in that vain, I want to sincerely congratulate the salespeople who attended the trip this year, you earned it! I look forward to having an even bigger group in 2014.
